Emma Moffatt signs on as P&G ambassador

Australian Triathlete Emma Moffat has signed on as ambassador to Proctor & Gamble brand Metamucil ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The announcement:

Official Olympic Games sponsor Procter & Gamble (P&G) today announced triathlete Emma Moffatt as its official Metamucil ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Moffatt is one of four recently signed ambassadors by P&G – the company behind some of Australia’s favourite brands including Metamucil, Gillette, Pantene, Oral-B, Vicks, Head & Shoulders, Ambi Pur and Fairy.

Moffatt commented: “I’m really excited about this new role and honoured to be chosen as the Metamucil ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games.”

“As any athlete knows – life can get pretty hectic in the run up to a major competition. With hours of intense training at home and overseas, it can sometimes be hard to meet the nutritional demands required for peak performance, so I’m happy to champion a product like Metamucil that can help make this easier,” she said.

Maile Carnegie, Managing Director P&G Australia, said P&G was proud to support an athlete who has demonstrated such passion and energy for her sport.

“Emma is having an amazing lead up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, having already secured her place in the team. She’s a two-time world champion and we know her experience and determination will be a huge advantage come July. She is an inspiration and at P&G we’re thrilled to support Emma, especially with the fibre supplement brand Metamucil which has been helping give Australians vitality and improved inner digestive health for generations,” Carnegie said.

P&G is also Proud Sponsor of Mums, recognising the lengths that Mums go to raise their children, with special focus on the mothers of Olympic Games athletes. P&G has been proudly supporting mums and families in Australia for over 25 years, improving lives of consumers with brands and products that make life a little better every day, making the job of washing dishes, shaving, brushing teeth or caring for the family’s hair a little easier and more enjoyable.

In 2010 P&G and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced their global partnership for the next five Olympic Games from the London 2012 Olympic Games through the 2020 Olympic Games. P&G will sponsor the next five Olympic Games, including London 2012 Olympic Games, Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Rio 2016 Olympic Games and PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The agreement gives P&G global sponsorship rights, enabling the company to take the Olympic Games to the four billion consumers worldwide served by P&G brands today.
