Enigma hires CHE Proximity’s Emma Ashworth as group account director

Independent marketing agency Enigma hired Emma Ashworth as group account director.

Joining from CHE Proximity (CHEP), Ashworth brings with her experience working on clients such as Danone, Ikea, Nuticia, Sony, Telstra and Toyota.

Ashworth will be based in Newcastle

Ashworth spent nearly five years at CHEP, continuing her work with Ikea which started during her tenure at The Monkeys. Prior to that she worked at MercerBell – now known as Performics MercerBell.

Ashworth’s joins Enigma five months after it acquired creative agency Disciple, which saw founders Peter Buckley and Tim Brown move across as executive creative directors.

Ashworth said it was an exciting time to be joining the Newcastle-based agency.

“Enigma is doing some really brave work and I’m excited to be part of a team that is focused on shifting up a gear,” she said.

“There is a huge appetite for great work within these walls, and some fantastic talent to deliver on it. I can’t wait to be part of that story and help drive the ambition as we take on 2021.”

Enigma was founded almost 30 years ago by Lisa Sutton Gardner and has offices in  Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney. Ashworth will be based in the Newcastle office.

“Emma joins Enigma at an important time for the agency. A busy client roster, the recent acquisition of creative agency Disciple, and the upcoming opening of a new Brisbane office meant we didn’t slow down at all in 2020. So it’s well and truly game on for us.”

Buckley added: “Emma’s rich experience in leading creative projects and integrated campaigns for major clients will greatly help our team, who are chomping at the bit ready to take on 2021, deliver our bravest and best work yet.”
