Entries open for Our Watch Awards

Entries are now open for Our Watch Awards, established to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that underpin and create violence against women and children.

The announcement:

The Walkley Foundation is supporting the Our Watch Awards which are established to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that underpin and create violence against women and children. With a vision for an Australia where women and their children live free from all forms of violence their mandate is to stop violence before it happens.  We encourage all journalists who have reported on this issue to enter! 

The Our Watch Awards are open to all journalists and media organisations for work produced in Australia during the entry period of January 1, 2014 through to July 8, 2015.

There are seven categories in the 2015 Our Watch Awards:

  • All Media: Best journalism campaign
  • All Media: Best news coverage
  • All Media: Best series or special
  • All Media: Best local/community journalism
  • All Media: Best longform
  • Best use of social media
  • Gold Award (the winner of the above categories will go in the running to receive the Gold Award)
