Eskimo wins award; hires account director Stacey Johnston

Design agency Eskimo was sole finalist in the Fashion/Style Brochure at the World Luxury Awards in Monaco. The agency has also appointed a new account director, Stacey Johnston.

The announcement:

Eskimo hits the heights of luxury

With 14 years of consistently delivering excellence in both art direction and brand communication for prestigious, iconic Australian fashion and lifestyle brands, eskimo is deepening its affinity with luxury brands with a prominent award and new specialist hire.

Since its inception, eskimo has built a reputation as an authority in the premium and luxury arena. With an astute insight into the local and global design, lifestyle and fashion trends, the agency continues to be sought-after by brands who recognise that ‘beauty and brains’ can, in eskimo’s expert hands, successfully co-exist, cutting through the clutter to deliver communications that are both strategically positioned and intelligently expressed.

It’s in this spirit that eskimo continually strives to create the unexpected – to never accept the status quo, but to seamlessly bring to life the core essence of an idea with outstanding perception and integrity. It’s an ethos that recently saw the Sydney-based agency awarded at the World Luxury Awards, Monaco.

Held annually, this prestigious competition is the only one of its kind, focusing exclusively on campaigns for luxury brands. It honors the companies and individuals responsible for creative excellence in luxury communication, awarding the most outstanding work in advertising, design and multimedia from across the globe. This year, eskimo was awarded sole Finalist in the Fashion/Style Brochure category for their Witchery S/S11 campaign, an accomplishment made even more notable by its placement alongside other esteemed Finalists such as luxury powerhouses Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Mont Blanc.

The agency’s credentials in the luxury arena have been further strengthened by the September appointment of its new Account Director, Stacey Johnston. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Spatial Design from the Auckland University of Technology, Stacey also holds an MBA (Hons) in International Luxury Brand Management from the acclaimed ESSEC Business School in Paris, France – the first MBA internationally to specialise in the study of the luxury sector.

Throughout her 10-year career, Stacey has been key in brand identity, strategy and packaging design for international marketing agencies. Her diverse portfolio includes such global heavyweights as PepsiCo International, Coca-Cola and Kraft Foods, and identity design and packaging for private labels Morrisons, Abel & Cole, and Sainsbury’s.

Stacey recently returned from Europe where she worked in Paris as a consultant for Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy, later joining the creative design team responsible for developing the forthcoming Gucci cosmetics line and Marni fragrance.

This stellar combination of agency and individual experience cements eskimo’s reputation for design intelligence; a strategic creativity that continues to brand and reposition premium and luxury clients with exceptional success.
