Essential sites, best buzzwords and biggest stories of 2008.

Several interesting end-of-year lists have been published over the last 24 hours. Among the best of them are the UK-based Guardian’s rundown of the 100 web sites you’ll need in 2009 which includes five excellent sites for Twitter users. Then there’s the New York Times’ buzzwords of 2008. Epic fail anyone?

And also from the US comes Editor & Publisher’s biggest newspaper stories of the year. Perhaps predictably, record job cuts is number one.
