Ex-Brisbane Broncos CEO joins VMG as board advisor

Paul White, former Brisbane Broncos CEO, has joined independent media company VMG as a board advisor.

The announcement:

Independent media company VMG has appointed former Brisbane Broncos Chief Executive Officer Paul White as Board Advisor effective immediately.

Mr White has worked in several executive roles with global companies Xstrata and Anglo American, and held his CEO position with the ASX-listed Brisbane Broncos for a decade. In 2017, he was nominated for Queensland’s Australian of the Year Award.

“I was drawn to the business because of its family values and the vision that both Mark and Michael have for where the business is headed, which is one that values its people above all else,” said Mr White.

After working closely with VMG’s board and senior leadership team since early in 2021, Mr White has accepted a permanent advisory role.

“The VMG business is a unique one in that it has a variety of offerings for clients from creative to strategic planning and performance with a huge investment into technology,” said Mr White. ‘This interests me greatly and I am looking forward to helping the business grow along this journey.”

VMG’s Board currently includes Mark Fishwick as Chairman, creative industry veteran and Yakkazoo Managing Director, Mark Barrett, ex-Deloitte finance and strategic growth specialist Andrew Butler, and VMG’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Fishwick.

As part of this position, Mr White will provide advice to VMG’s Board and senior leadership team as the company seeks to increase its current foothold in the Australian media and creative market.

“Paul is a great Australian story and brings to VMG a depth of experience across corporate business, sport, and importantly, life and family. This will be highly advantageous as the group looks to position itself as Australia’s largest independent media company,” said Group Chairman Mark Fishwick.

Since the beginning of 2020, VMG has acquired four agencies with the recent acquisition of design agency Loulaki Blue and has launched an industry-first tool in market, 360Intelligence. The group recently announced the promotion of two senior members to support its national expansion.

“VMG is expanding at a rapid rate. To support this fast growth, I feel it’s important to get knowledgeable, independent and honest advice. Paul’s advice across the leadership group and guidance on business strategy will assist with VMG’s current trajectory,” he said.

Mr White will continue in the role until the end of 2021.
