Ex-Daylight MD forms new PR agency Twenty6forty4

Daylight Agency talent have formed a new PR agency, Twenty6forty4 Communications, led by managing director Chris Gray.

Mumbrella understands that most of Daylight’s remaining clients and staff have joined Twenty6forty4.

The new agency’s name is a reference to the 26 letters and 44 sounds of the English language.

The PR agency has a team of seven at the time of writing, and is working for clients such as Hertz, Essilor, Nielsen and the Italian Chamber of Commerce.

The six areas the new agency focuses on are PR, corporate communications, consumer marketing, social, crisis and issues management and leadership training.

Twenty6forty4 has lost Ferrero Australia as a client, ending its 14 year relationship with the confectionary brand. Ferrero was a client with Daylight Agency.

Daylight went into liquidation in January 2021, with Gray resigning as its managing director in May 2021. The new agency opened its doors on 1 May 2021.

Daylight was founded through a merger in 2017 between ICON International Communications, where Phil Burfurd was CEO, and Chris+Geoff, where Gray was managing director. At Daylight, Gray took on the role of managing director and Burfurd became the company’s chairman.

According to his LinkedIn, Burford remains as chairman of Daylight.

Daylight Agency was known for its Almond Breeze work, which it lost as a client to One Roof Agency. One Roof Agency was founded by Shelley Hammond, who was previously Daylight Agency’s director of agency operations.
