Ferrero appoints Sefiani, ends 14 year relationship with Daylight

Ferrero Rocher and Nutella’s parent company Ferrero Australia has appointed Sefiani as its corporate and sustainability communications agency in Australia and New Zealand.

The incumbent agency is Twenty6forty4 Communications, which was opened in May this year by former Daylight staff. Daylight went into liquidation early this year.

Ferrero Australia’s institutional affairs director, Derek Lath, said: “We were impressed by Sefiani’s thoughtful response to our brief, demonstrating a clear understanding of our business matched with the expertise we need to further strengthen our communications strategy in the local market.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the hard work of our incumbent agency, Twenty6forty4. Our successful partnership with Chris Gray and his team delivered invaluable support to our business for more than a decade.”

Sefiani CEO and reputation counsel, Robyn Sefiani, commented: “We’re thrilled to be commencing work with a global brand we admire, which makes products we love to consume.

“When we received Ferrero’s RFP and started researching the company, we were hugely impressed with its storied heritage in Italy and evolution to become an ambitious international company guided by strong family values.

“One of our focus areas will be to highlight Ferrero’s unswerving commitment to sustainability which runs right through the value chain: from sourcing certified sustainable ingredients to encouraging responsible consumption and reducing emissions. Ferrero’s considerable achievements to meet these goals demonstrate the business’ care for its people, local communities and the environment.”

Twenty6forty4’s managing director, Chris Gray, told Mumbrella: “We are incredibly proud of our long-standing relationship with Ferrero – which ran from 2007 until 2021. The fact we were together for 14 years is a great testament to the strength of our partnership. There would be very few client-agency alliances in the PR field that would have lasted that long

“The partnership worked because it featured three key ingredients: trust, respect and openness. Like everything in life, sometimes we all need to change things up and bring a fresh perspective to our lives. The same is true in the business world.

“We have had a great run together. A new agency partner will bring a new lens to the Ferrero business. That is a good thing. We part ways as friends and trusted partners. We wish Derek and his team – as well as the Sefiani team – the best for the future.”

Ferrero Australia joins recent client wins for Sefiani including Airbus and L’Oreal Group.
