Ex-Mamamia digital commercial director joins SBS

SBS Media has announced the appointment of Danika Johnston as national digital sales manager. The newly created position will see Johnston responsible for driving SBS Media’s digital advertising sales strategy and implementation.

Johnston was previously Mamamia’s digital commercial director. Prior to that she was national sales director for Authentic Entertainment and Vevo.

SBS Media director Adam Sadler said the newly created role shows the outlets passion for expansion in the digital space.

“As part of our continued digital investment and transformation journey, SBS is excited to be welcoming Danika Johnston to the team,” said Sadler.

Johnston will lead a national digital sales team, service key agencies and clients and manage agency trading desk relationships. She brings over 20 years of digital, media and marketing experience to the role.

Andrew Mudgway, SBS Media national sales manager TV and digital said the newly created role was a key one and that Johnston would be a strong addition to the team.

“We are delighted that Danika is joining our team and look forward to working with such a highly regarded, and experienced senior digital talent. She’ll play a key role as SBS continues to evolve our offering, meeting the needs of audiences and advertisers in an ever-changing media landscape and growing digital marketplace.”

Johnston said she was excited to be joining the team and looking forward to leading the outlet forward.

SBS Media encompasses SBS, SBS On Demand, SBS Viceland, SBS Food and SBS World Movies which launches 1 July.
