Bruce McColl: latest marketing professor

Australian McColl retired from US-based Mars Inc this year after ten years as global chief marketing officer role, during which time the company won numerous marketing accolades including Advertiser of the Year at Cannes Lions. In that time he became known for marrying creative with marketing science to achieve results.

While at Mars he was a sponsor and advisor to the University of South Australia’s faculty, and established the Mars Marketing Science Laboratory there.

Director of the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute Professor Byron Sharp, said: “The kind of experience Bruce has is unique, he’s seen great changes in the industry, and is a leader in the application of scientific knowledge to marketing practice.

“Corporate sponsors of the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute as well as students will benefit from his experience in marrying creativity and science.”

McColl will be lecturing and advising research students at the centre.

The Marketing Science Idea Exchange (MSIX) curated by Adam Ferrier takes place on November 24 in Sydney. To see the program and book tickets click here.
