The annoucnement:

Peloton – a leading global fitness lifestyle company, today announced the appointment of Kathryn Carter to the position of general manager of Australia.

Kathryn will be responsible for driving growth and leading Peloton’s operations in Australia, overseeing multiple functions including Retail, Operations, Marketing and Communications, as well as business partnerships. Having previously held roles at SNAP Inc and News Corp., Kathryn has a deep understanding of the Australian market and has built a reputation for delivering commercial results across new and established markets, and scaling global brands regionally.

Manu Seigner, VP of International Peloton, said, “Australia is a leading fitness market and an important part of Peloton’s international growth strategy. Whether it’s the Peloton Bike, Tread or App, we are giving Australians the ability to workout anytime, anywhere regardless of where they are in their fitness journey. Kathryn brings great experience in growing brands and communities and will be an asset to Peloton as more Australians discover and benefit from the motivating fitness experiences that we offer.”

Commenting on joining Peloton, Kathryn said, “Fitness is ingrained in Australia’s cultural DNA, and as a leader in technology, content, and community, Peloton is uniquely positioned to enhance the way Australians move and stay motivated. I am excited to join Peloton at such a pivotal time and build on the incredible momentum and excitement for the brand in this country.”

Since Peloton’s entry into the Australian market in 2021, the brand has built a growing community of Australians who are actively engaging with its dynamic content and interactive technology, through the Peloton App, Peloton Bike and Bike+, Peloton Tread and Peloton Guide. Earlier this year, Peloton brought its best-in class treadmill and cardio experience to market to elevate the way Australians walk, run, and train towards their fitness goals. The Peloton App also now features three new subscription tiers including a free version, giving consumers added choice so they can work out with or without equipment – at home, outdoors or at the gym – independently or with instruction.

Peloton has changed the way in which people move by making fitness more accessible, entertaining and motivating. The brand has established a number of strong local partnerships including giving Australians the ability to purchase its leading hardware through Qantas Marketplace using their Qantas Frequent Flyer Points, as well as becoming an official sponsor of the 2023 City2Surf. Most recently, Peloton teamed up with the country’s largest hotel operator, Accor, to implement a first-of-its-kind initiative allowing guests to earn loyalty points for workouts completed during their stay.

Kathryn replaces former country lead, Amanda Gilmore, who has taken on a new role at Peloton in the UK overseeing Peloton’s UK business and its market expansion strategy.
