Ex-Sunday Gravy COO opens new creative recruitment agency

The co-founder and ex-chief operating officer of Sunday Gravy, Nicholas Cox, has launched a creative recruitment agency in Melbourne.

The announcement:

The People Place is a new creative recruitment agency based in Melbourne. But the key difference, says founder and principal Nicholas Cox, is that they don’t recruit talent.

“I’ve been in this industry for 13 years now, and what I’ve seen, time and time again, is that the best creative minds don’t just bring talent to a job. They bring their whole selves. That’s why our focus is on finding people. Good people. And matching them with good places.”

Nic started out in TV, advertising, and film production. In 2014, he produced Tropfest’s winning film and, off the back of that success, co-founded award-winning creative content studio Gen C. He played an integral role in Gen C’s transformation into Sunday Gravy, and in his role as chief operating officer, helped grow the business into one of Australia’s top independent creative agencies within just twelve months.

Nic’s trajectory has given him first-hand experience across the gamut of creative roles. Some he’s serviced himself, many he’s filled with Australia’s brightest creatives. In doing so, he’s built a strong network of talented and like-minded individuals, while developing a knack for understanding what makes people tick, and how and where their talent can best be utilised.

“I know the demands of the industry and the requirements of a role after working many of them myself. Experience has taught me what’s important. But also, what’s possible. When talented people feel empowered and inspired by their environment, they innovate, they shape culture, and they drive profits.”

Whether you’re looking for a new role, or seeking someone to fill a role, you can now find the best of the best in one place.
