Ex-Sensis GM Mark Shaw resurfaces as boss of Spotify/Rdio rival DMD

Mark Shaw, the former GM at Sensis Digital Media who departed last year, has resurfaced as CEO of Digital Music Distribution.

DMD is a joint venture between Universal Music and Sony Music, founded a year ago, which provides digital music services to the public, broadcasters and brands.

DMD’s Songl service, which soft launched in Australia and New Zealand in October, is to take on Spotify and Rdio in the music streaming space.

He is an exceptional individual who will ensure that DMD’s services, including Songl, continue to connect with music fans everywhere. His appointment continues the exciting growth of DMD in Australia and New Zealand.”
