Facebook urges everyone to share the love as it passes two billion users

Facebook has implored everyone to share the love after the social media giant passed two billion daily users, with a new video feature being rolled out which will highlight what its users have ‘loved’.

Over the next few days users will be treated to a customised personal video celebrating what it describes as them bringing the world closer together and, for US subscribers, a series of videos illustrating how people are using Facebook Groups in their communities.

At the Good Adds Up page, Facebook users will be able to see their ‘love videos’ along with factoids on their likes and friends while Facebook will post a thanks in peoples’ newsfeeds when they ‘love’ a connection’s post.

The first inspirational video, Moms Of Beverly, features the story of a mother’s group in suburban Chicago using the service to stay in touch.

In its release Facebook says more than 175 million people “love” something on the service and over 800 million people “like” a post each day.

“While you may be just one human on this planet, Facebook just made it a little bit it easier for you to connect, regardless of where you live, or what language you speak,” Facebook’s media announcement concluded.
