Fairfax Media restructures trade marketing team

Fairfax Media is restructuring its metro trade marketing department as a result of changes to the wider metro publishing division.

While redundancies have not occurred yet, it is understood they are on the cards after the publishing company has explored “redeployment options” with affected staff.

The restructure follows on from the promotion of Chris Janz to managing director of the Australian metro publishing division, responsible for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review.

A Fairfax Media spokesperson said: “Metro trade marketing is being restructured in line with other changes in our Australian Metro Publishing business. We are working through the transition and will explore redeployment options with any affected staff.”

The restructure comes on the heels of the resignation of the publisher’s events boss Andrew McEvoy last Thursday.
