Filmink launches its iPad app

Film magazine Filmink will unveil  its app for the iPad tomorrow.   

The announcement:

FILMINK Magazine and Australia Unlimited will debut the FILMINK app designed specifically for the iPad on March 1st, 2011 at Cargo Bar, Sydney’s premium harbourside venue.

Publisher Dov Kornits will introduce an audience of roughly 300 invited guests to the premiere edition of the FILMINK App showcasing the digital magazine’s interactive content designed to fully exploit the iPad’s Multi-Touch technology.

The FILMINK app delivers movie fans a practical, fun and engaging experience. Boasting multi-navigational functionality, interactive photo galleries, trailers, interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes content, the FILMINK app is everything Australian readers have come to love about FILMINK, only better.

Now it moves. Now it’s interactive. And thanks to the App Store on iTunes, now it’s global.

Attending the launch event will be guests from the entertainment industry including Australian filmmakers, actors and television personalities, including Daniel Amalm (Underbelly, Rescue Special Ops), Sophie Katinis (Cops LAC, Home & Away), Andy Ryan (Tomorrow When The War Began, The Jesters), Abe Forsythe (Ned, 2010 Tropfest winner) and Anthony Hayes (Animal Kingdom) along with key players within the Theatrical, Home Entertainment, Online and Technology sectors with a VIP lounge catering to FILMINK’s celebrity guests. A media wall will be present for photo opportunities on arrival. In addition all guests will receive a deluxe ‘goodie bag’ supplied by Kabuki Boy, a Sydney based boutique marketing company, which will reflect the lifestyle applications of the FILMINK app.

Following a brief presentation, which will include a screening of the FILMINK app’s official TVC featuring Australian comedian and actor Peter Helliar, guests will have the opportunity to experience the FILMINK app personally using iPads supplied at the venue.

The first edition of the FILMINK app is available now for download from the App Store on iTunes.

The Official Launch of the FILMINK app will take place on March 1, 2011 at Cargo Bar, 52-60 The Promenade King Street Warf, Sydney beginning at 6.00pm.
