Finder head of PR Adam Freedman exits after just 5 months

Finder has named a new head of PR for Australia and New Zealand following the abrupt exit of Adam Freedman after a “whirlwind” five months.

Freedman only joined the comparison site from Red Havas in June, with the company praising him for his “thirst for success”.

Taylor Blackburn joined Finder in 2018

He will be replaced by Taylor Blackburn, Finder’s head of media relations and media relations lead since joining the company in September 2018.

Prior to joining Finder, Blackburn spent nearly three years at Haystac, and also had spells at Howorth, Ogilvy Health and Magnum PR.

“Over the past few years, Taylor has powered an incredibly strong media relations team at Finder and demonstrated his deep understanding of the role communications plays in our business – from idea creation to media spokesperson,” Finder Australia chief executive Chris Ellis said.

Blackburn said: “Finder’s mission is to help people make better financial decisions and a key part of that is supporting the media who inform them with comparisons, data and commentary.

“I joined a really strong crew at Finder in 2018 and it’s my privilege to enable them to go even further as a team.”

Freedman described his five-month tenure as a “whirlwind”.

“I enjoyed getting to know a talented crew who I know will achieve great things,.” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting stuck into my next adventure and go back to my roots in the consumer lifestyle space, ready for an exciting 2022 and beyond.”
