First Dates’ second episode improves on premiere audience

Seven’s First Dates second episode gained viewers from last week’s debut, with the show last night drawing 854,000, a jump of 56,000 from last week.

Although First Dates, airing at 7:30pm, saw an increase in viewers, Nine’s The Block led the way in the time-slot as this season’s reserve prices were revealed, seeing a drop in metro audience share from last week’s 980,000 to 897,000 viewers.

This left Ten’s Jamie’s Super Food Family trailing behind with an audience share of 379,000.

First Dates enjoyed the highest audience share across all demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 years of age), with The Block obtaining the second highest.

Ten’s series, Todd Sampson’s Body Hack which aired at 8:30pm, saw a rise in its audience by 58,000, taking its total audience share to 450,000.

According to OzTAM overnight metro ratings, Seven’s Gold Coast Medical took the lead in the same time slot, losing 43,000 viewers to sit at 566,000.

Unreal Estate, which aired on Nine at 8:45pm, managed 525,000 viewers down from last week’s audience of 602,000.

Seven won the night again with 30% – up 10% from last week’s total audience share, leaving Nine behind after jumping to 28.5% from last week’s 19.8%. Network Ten achieved third place with 18.1%.
