For animal lovers everywhere
You’ve gotta (as Dr Mumbo has often observed) love contextual advertising.
Like this ad for Pedigree which is running against YouTube’s pets and animals category.
So how do you give your puppy the best start? By dumping local cats in the bin, it would seem.
…although this does kind of make sense, right? people appalled by @CatBinLady likely to be (a) pet owners who (b) care about their pets…?

Wow this advertisement is just wrong – Get rid of all the cats to give your dog a better start in life???? Fuck me, what is wrong with the ad agency who even came up with this campaign and shame on the people at Pedigree for approving it!!! I would NEVER buy Pedigree for my dog from this campaign – all it is doing is saying it’s okay to treat animals with cruelty. Come on Pedigree smarten your act up!!!

I suggest you do some research on the meaning of “contextual advertising”.
If you read the original post, this ad has been running in YouTube’s ‘pets and animals’ category as a media placement – with the intention of targeting people who have an interest in pets.
As unfortunate as this particular placement is, do you really think Pedigree actually intended for their ad to be placed against this video? Or that they think it is ok to treat animals with cruelty!!!? Wake up!
