Forget about radio, Twitter breaks the awards news
It was good to see that the team from ABC’s Triple J lived up to their techno-savvy reputation at the Walkley Young Journalist Awards on Thursday night.
As the station’s Michael Atkin took to the stage to pick up the radio trophy, the first thing one of his supporters said was: ‘Quick get it out on Twitter”.
And I did – I was happily tweeting all Young Journalist Award winners live from the back of the room last night, see full list at http://twitter.com/zobi1kenobi
Particularly interesting was Jullia Medew from The Age (the overall Young Journalist of the Year Award Winner and Print Category Winner) – and her mention of how glad she was that a Print journalist could still win this award…
