Former CHEP COO Andrew Drougas joins Howatson+Company

Howatson+Company has nabbed CHEP Network’s Andrew Drougas to head up its Melbourne office as its new managing director.

The former CHEP chief operating officer and managing director of Melbourne will partner with the existing leadership team at Howatson+Company, including recently promoted group managing director Renee Hyde and managing partner Rebecca Robertson.

Drougas left CHEP last month after close to sixteen years with the Clemenger Group.

At the time, he commented: “How blessed I have been to work in two of the greatest agencies in Clemenger BBDO and CHE Proximity over that period, at the peak at their creative powers.”

During his time at CHEP, Drougas worked closely with Chris Howatson, who left his role as CEO in February 2021 to found his own agency.

Howatson said: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Drougie for many years. He deeply cares about his clients and how to grow their business.

“He creates a climate of understanding, care and ambition within the agency. And is truly energised by the transformational power of creative thinking,” Howatson added.

Drougas said the team at Howatson+Company “already feels like home”.

“Mumbrella Creative, Independent and Emerging Agency of the Year.  D&AD Global Independent Agency of the Year.  Cannes Global Independent Agency of the Year (Good).  The list goes on and on, and in such a brief amount of time since it’s inception because of a great group of people doing great creative work.

“It’s such a simple yet hard formula to achieve but Howatson+Company have got the runs on the board, and I can’t wait to add to the agency’s continued growth and success,” he concluded.
