Former Host/Havas ECD Seamus Higgins joins R/GA as regional chief creative officer

Seamus Higgins, who departed Host/Havas last week after the agency restructured its creative department, has landed a role as R/GA’s VP APAC chief creative officer.

Higgins joins R/GA after a series of change for the agency which saw its VP MD of R/GA Australia Rebecca Bezzina and its regional ECD VP Bob Mackintosh, depart.

Both Mackintosh and Bezzina announced their departures last month.

Speaking of his appointment, Higgins said in a statement: “APAC is a hugely dynamic region where anything is possible, and R/GA is perfectly poised to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation here. I can’t wait to get going with this incredibly talented team.”

In other appointments for the agency Niklas Lilja has joined the agency from New York where he was an acting ECD at R/GA Asia.

Lilja will now become executive creative director – head of stories APAC.

Meanwhile Rob Chalmers has been promoted to ECD – head of experience design.

Chalmers has been promoted from his previous role as Sydney ECD.
