Former Nike and Koala marketer announced as CMO for Aussie independent brewery

Australian independent brewery, Mountain Culture, has announced Bradley Firth in the newly-created role of CMO.

Firth took on the role this month, joining from Koala where he worked for three years as VP global brand strategy and creative. Prior to Koala, he spent six years at Nike’s European and global offices in a number of roles, most recently global brand strategy and creative director.

During his time at Nike, Firth was involved in the brand’s  Emmy award-winning global campaign, You Can’t Stop Sport.

He has also spent time agency side, working at a number of notable agencies, including The Monkeys, Droga5 and Fallon London.

“I’ve worked at some cool places in my time, but Mountain Culture is special,” Firth said.

“The people, the product and the culture all collide to make one of the most exciting brands in this country. Over the next 12 months we’re looking to find the edges of our marketing and connect even more with our loyal customer base.”

“If you are creative, like beer and think you might be able to help, let’s chat.”

Mountain Culture CEO and co-founder, DJ McCready, welcomed Firth’s appointment on Monday, saying: “We’ve known Brad for a long time and are stoked that we’ve been able to add him to the team officially.

“His impressive experience and track record will help us level up our brand and marketing to ensure more Aussies know who were are and fall in love with our really good beer.”

After first launching in 2019, the black summer bushfires and COVID-19 lockdowns forced Mountain Culture to pivot online where it garnered a cult following. The success and overwhelming demand saw the Katoomba-based brewery opened a second venue just last year in Emu Plains.
