Former reporter Cameron Price launches personalised news platform

Former broadcast reporter Cameron Price along with software engineer Cheyne Wallace have launched an on-demand, personalised news streaming platform called LeadStory.

The platform features an Interest Scale which allows users to set their interest in certain news topics by operating a sliding scale.

The news sites currently featured within the platform includes CNBC, Al Jazeera, Euronews, Bloomberg, Reuters, France24, CBC (Canada), Fox News, Ticker News and ABC Australia, with more to come.

The platform also has a feature that allows users to watch news happening nearby called News Radar.

Leadstory’s CEO Cameron Price said: “Our mission is to keep our users informed in the way they choose to, empowering them to make their own decisions on what they want to watch, and how they want to watch it.

“We need to find a way to get people to trust the news again, and allowing them complete control over their news selection is a start”.

Price has worked as a reporter at Seven Network, Sky News and Nine. His time at Nine came to an end in 2011 when he was sacked for his involvement in ‘Choppergate‘, when a live cross was faked to the Nine News helicopter.

The app for LeadStory will be out next month on both iOS and Android, with a SmartTV app to follow.
