Former top Suncorp marketer Mark Reinke joins PwC CMO Advisory board

Former Suncorp marketing boss, Mark Reinke, has joined PwC’s CMO advisory board alongside Russel Howcroft, Mark Buckman and Sunita Gloster, the consulting firm announced today.

Reinke, who stepped down at the beginning of the month after 14 years with Suncorp, will take up the role in July.

Reinke: “Marketing is pivotal to delivering earnings growth”

PwC’s chief creative officer Russel Howcroft said Reinke’s appointment will add to the firm’s CMO offering: “Mark is one of the most respected senior marketing executives in Australia who understands the role marketing plays in the corporate growth agenda,” he said.

“The CMO Advisory Board has played an important role in our rapid growth, providing industry insights and a perspective on global marketing trends that are reshaping the CMO agenda.”

Before joining Suncorp in 2004, Reinke had been group manager for consumer mass marketing at Telstra, something he shares with fellow advisory board member Buckman who was the telco’s head of marketing and media before his abrupt departure in 2014.

Buckman was appointed to PwC’s CMO advisory board in March 2017 along with then AANA CEO Sunita Gloster. Shortly after her appointment to the board, Gloster stepped down from the AANA to join Ten as chief commercial and strategy officer, however by December, Ten had announced her departure.

Gloster then took on a full-time role with PwC as the director of the CMO Advisory.

Buckman left Foxtel six months after joining the PwC board.

Also serving on the PwC panel are Mike McGrath, PwC’s chief marketing officer, Megan Brownlow, editor of PwC Australia’s Entertainment & Media Outlook,  Lawrence Goldstone, partner of PwC’s The Difference, and Justin Papps, director and head of PwC CMO Advisory.

Commenting on his appointment, Reinke said: “I am excited to work alongside a talented group of professionals at a time when marketing is pivotal to delivering earnings growth.

“New platforms and capabilities are enabling deeply accountable and engaging marketing campaigns and PwC is uniquely positioned to leverage these platforms to solve client problems.”
