Fortress nabs ex-Jaxsta CEO as new chief marketer

Games culture and experiences company Fortress has named former Jaxsta CEO Beth Appleton as its new chief marketing officer.

Taking to LinkedIn on Monday to announce the appointment, Fortress co-founder and CEO, Jon Satterley, said: “We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Beth Appleton as our new chief marketing officer at Fortress Australia.

“With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, including former roles as CEO of Jaxsta and leadership at Warner Music, Beth is a perfect match for our forward-thinking vision,” he said.

He said her appointment marks a “significant phase of innovation and growth” for the business, and he’s excited to see the impact Appleton will make on the team.

“We look forward to the dynamic and impactful contributions she will bring to our team,” Satterley concluded.

Prior to Fortress, Appleton spent two years at Australia’s only ASX-listed music company Jaxsta (now Vinyl Group) as chief marketer, then chief executive. Coming from a music background, she has also spent time at Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, both locally and in the UK.

In the new CMO role, Appleton will be responsible for Fortress’ audience growth, events, marketing, creative, customer experience and retention teams.

“I am genuinely excited to begin this new chapter with Fortress Australia,” she said.

“The vision crafted by Jon Satterley and the team is extraordinary, and I am eager to contribute to our success with innovative and creative strategies.

“From arenas to fantasy-themed taverns, a sci-fi-inspired bar, arcades, and state-of-the-art PC zones, Fortress provides an ideal backdrop for a wide range of events and experiences.”
