Foxtel executive joins Qantas in senior comms role
Foxtel’s recently departed executive director of group communications, Jacqui Abbott, will be joining Qantas Group in a new senior communications role.
Abbott left Foxtel at the end of March, after three years at the company. She will now join Qantas as executive manager corporate affairs and internal communications.
Upon leaving the broadcaster she said: “The last three years have been fuelled with learning and I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been given. There is still plenty of work to do before I embark on the next chapter and I look forward to be a part of more big moments for the Group including the launch of Hubbl.”
Abbott started with Foxtel in March 2021 as its group director of content communications, moving over from Pulse – the consumer brand marketing arm of OPR – where she worked as managing director for three years after first joining the agency in 2015.
Abbott told Mumbrella she is “thrilled to be back in the aviation industry and to be joining the team at Qantas, in particular to be working again with Danielle Kieghery after our time at Virgin together.”
She starts in her new role next Monday, May 20.
