Foxtel pays tribute to fallen characters of Game of Thrones with graveyard open to the public
DDB Sydney and Foxtel have built a 2,000 square metre graveyard to pay tribute to the over 100,000 individual deaths in Game of Thrones ahead of the eighth and final season.
The graveyard features more than 30 headstones, including two mausoleums for two of the central families of the show, House Stark and House Baratheon.
The project was a collaboration of film production house Will O’Rourke, DDB and a team of Australia’s top sculptors, designers, painters and builders.
Each grave bares its character’s cause of death and episode number and has been created in reference to their story line in the show. For example, the grave of Ramsay Bolton has a dog bowl, referencing his hounds that were used to execute his enemies, before he reached the same fate.
The graveyard is situated in Sydney’s Centennial Parklands and will be open to the public from the 12 to 14 of April, ahead of the premiere on the 15th.
