Freelancer appoints new Australian Communications Manager

Freelancer.com today announces the appointment of Liam Fitzpatrick to the in-house role of communications manager ANZ.

Fitzpatrick’s most recent position was as Senior Account Director for Ogilvy’s tech agency Howorth Communications in Sydney. Prior to emigrating to Australia last year, Fitzpatrick spent seven years in agencies, five of which were with Propeller PR. The B2B London agency specialises in advertising, marketing and technology. His client experience includes SAP, TBWA/London, iProspect, Blackwood Seven, Google and The Walt Disney Company.

Joining the business to work across Freelancer.com, Escrow and Warrior Forum, Fitzpatrick will report into Sebastian Siseles, Director of International at Freelancer.com.

Chief executive Matt Barrie said: “It’s a coup to add someone with Liam’s experience to our HQ. The international nature of our business and his tech experience makes him the perfect fit. However, his main responsibility will be overseeing the communications and marketing strategies across Australia and New Zealand. Liam’s journalistic background was very evident and will be put to good use together with our content team.”

Liam Fitzpatrick, communications manager for ANZ said: “Over the last 10 years we’ve seen the democratisation of expertise through technology. Platforms to connect skills or services with those in need. Freelancer is a truly global business, meaning as an entrepreneur in Brisbane I could hire a freelance graphic designer in Lagos and wake up to a completed new logo. I honestly believe the future is going to be in specialisms, so as the largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace, Freelancer.com is well positioned. Christopher Hitchen’s said everyone has one book in them, well Freelancer is on hand for everyone who has that spark of a business idea.”
