Fruits become part of DJ set in new Weis’ campaign by Clemenger

Fruit comes to life to make music as part of a DJ set in a new campaign for Weis’ Juicy Cuts.

The campaign, by Clemenger Brisbane, features musical act Yes You preparing a DJ set for a party by plugging in fresh fruits that are ‘wired for sound.’

The music track, ‘Make me,’ was composed by the musical duo and performed live on the fruit, using music mixing software and computers that turn objects into musical keyboards.

The different fruits that made up the set are the same fruits that make up Weis’ Juicy Cuts.

The tagline, ‘The Taste on Everyone’s Lips’ matches the beach party scene, which sees families, couples and friends joining together to eat Weis’ Juicy Cuts.

Julie Weis, joint managing director at Weis’ Frozen Foods, said the campaign aims to highlight all Weis’ bars are made from real Australian fruit.

“Our ice-cream is authentically made, so it was really important to us that our campaign was as well. It’s a real track, played on real fruit at a real party. And it was a great party!” said Weis.

Marianne Harvey, creative director at Clemenger, said the music worked well in the lead up to summer.

“Music was a way to own the season. But Juicy Cuts is more than just a track played at a party with some tricky tech – it’s anchored in a product truth that separates Weis’ from the rest of the freezer,” said Harvey.

The campaign will roll out across social and outdoor, as well as radio and festival performances throughout summer.
