Games, trivia, quizzes: Reddit launches interactive ads
Reddit wants you to make ads people can play
Reddit is introducing its own unique ad unit — Interactive Ads — in which brands can build and serve their own game-style advertisements with Reddit, featuring quizzes, countdowns, and mini games.
The feature is currently alpha testing for select advertisers. Electronic Arts, Red Bull, and Paramount already have interactive ads live on the platform, all of which are built through Reddit’s Developer Platform.
Paramount Pictures are promoting the upcoming Glen Powell film The Running Man using an escape-style video game, where the film’s trailer was unlocked upon completion of the game.
EA Sports introduced its latest Battlefield game with countdown advertising, as well as a game where Reddit groups team up on a collective mission.
A blog post on Reddit’s page explains that interactive ads were designed for redditors “to play, participate, and explore directly within the ad itself”.

Interactive ad units “range from fully bespoke campaigns and creative activations to low-lift, high-impact, repeatable templates like countdowns, quizzes, dynamic reveals, and trivia”, which the blog explains, offers “flexibility based on creative goals and investment needs.”
Jyoti Vaidee, VP of ads product at Reddit, said the format “offers ad innovation at scale, making it simple for brands to create immersive moments that drive discovery and participation right where conversations are happening.
“The result is brand interactions that earn attention and create lasting impact in a space the audience trusts.”
