Gatorade switches from DDB to Whybins

Whybin\TBWA\Sydney has won the creative account for sports drink Gatorade.

The account was previously held by fellow Omnicom agency DDB Sydney.

“TBWA are the Global Gatorade agency so it will be exciting to bring Australia in step with our Global business. We look forward to a new era on Gatorade and our partnership with Whybin\TBWA Sydney”, said Kim McConnie, marketing director for Pepsico Beverages.

Whybins CEO Paul Bradbury said: “Gatorade is a legendary brand with a very relevant story to tell. We are very excited and honoured to be able to continue that story”.

Gatorade’s best known recent communications work was The Replay, which saw two old college football teams reunited to replay a match. An attempt to localise the work in 2011 failed to deliver similar cut through.
