Gereurd Roberts steps up to Famous publisher

Gereurd Roberts famousPacific Magazines has promoted Famous editor-in-chief Gereurd Roberts to publisher and started the search for a successor to edit the title.

Roberts became editor-in-chief three years ago, following a stint as deputy editor of NW magazine.

In the last set of Audit Burea Of Circulation data, Famous was the only weekly title to record an increase – with sales up 3% from 88,000 to just over 90,000.

Pacific Magazines CEO Nick Chan previously held the publishing reins for Famous.

Chan said: “This appointment recognises both Gereurd’s increasing involvement in the management of the business of Famous, as well as the outstanding performance of the magazine. In appointing Gereurd as Publisher, we recognise the opportunities that lie ahead for the brand, and we look forward to its continuing growth under Gereurd’s leadership.”

Roberts will remain editor-in-chief until his successor is appointed.
