Gillette opens barber shop to mark Movember

Gillette has opened its first barber shop in Australia to celebrate the launch of its new product range and offer free beard care for men during Movember.

The announcement:

To celebrate the launch of the new King C. Gillette range and to support the Movember movement, Gillette has opened its first ever pop-up barber shop in Australia, overlooking Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach.

The shop underlines the brand’s partnership with Movember and the Movember Foundation, which is now in its third year. The brand is continuing its long-standing commitment to its work in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, which has never been more important in the current environment.

The King C. Gillette Barber Shop is inspired by over 115 years of innovation and grooming experience and bears the name of founder King Camp Gillette. It will also champion Gillette’s innovative new grooming facial haircare range, which brings a century’s worth of expertise to life. The range features a complete collection of tools and facial hair care products that are crafted to help men perfect their unique look and enhance their personal grooming ritual.

The King C. Gillette tools, accessories and facial hair care products include the iconic double-edged safety razor that was pioneered back in 1901 by its founder. In a first for the brand, specific beard-care products have been developed, promising to support men with facial hair to look, feel and act their best every day, by giving them the best tools of the trade to master their personal at-home grooming regime.

Ryan Edwards, Brand Director, Gillette ANZ, said: “We’re excited to announce the launch of King C. Gillette range and our first ever pop-up Barber Shop, which also aligns with our renewed partnership with Movember for a third year. We’re proud to support mental and physical health for men across the country while simultaneously providing all men, with the tools of the trade to master their Mos and providing more reasons to put their personal wellbeing first.”

The King C. Gillette Barber Shop, produced by Havas Sports & Entertainment, a division of Havas Media Group, is located at 74 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach and will be open to the public every Friday – Sunday until 22 November.
