Glenn Robbins and Dave O’Neil’s podcast going on-air via ARN

Comedians Glenn Robbins and Dave O’Neil have brought their Somehow Related podcast to air, under ARN’s podcast to broadcast strategy.

The announcement:

One of Australia’s top comedy podcasts is coming to ARN as part of the business’ growing podcast to broadcast strategy.

From Sunday the 9th of October, beloved comedians Glenn Robbins and Dave O’Neil will bring their unique podcast Somehow Related to air via WSFM, GOLD104.3, Mix102.3, KIIS 97.3 and 96FM.

The podcast, produced by Nearly Media, is already a part of ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network which sees the duo take two seemingly unrelated topics and work out how those very different things are Somehow Related. From Space and Steak to Elvis and Vaccines, the radio show adapts the best bits from the top episodes for listeners across the country.

On the exciting news, Glenn Robbins said, “Dave O’Neil and I are very excited to bring our podcast Somehow Related to ARN’s Sunday line-up. Sure, they’ve already got Simon & Garfunkel or Lennon and McCarthy but now they have the classic duo of Robbins and O’Neil. Think of it like a “Bridge Over Troubled Water” with dad jokes or “Let it Be” with Comedy Company anecdotes.”

Of the announcement, Dave O’Neil added, “I’m so excited to be bringing our little Somehow Related show to the listeners of the ARN’s Sunday Night line-up. They’re going to have so many laughs and learn some stuff. For example, did you know that Glenn Robbins was once mistaken for a resident at an aged care facility? Oh, and heaps of stuff about music, history and Australia. Also, did you also know Glenn Robbins appeared in the TV show ‘Prisoner’ and was shot by an escaping prisoner? There’s more of these amazing facts.”

Sam, the endlessly patient robot lady host, also had to share her two cents, “They’re not funny and I don’t like either of them. It’s crass and inappropriate if you ask me. Listen to it soon because it won’t be on air for very long…”

This is the third ARN show to be launched as part of their Podcast to Broadcast Strategy, following the lead of Life Uncut and She’s on the Money, which make up the current KIIS Saturdays format.

Somehow Related can be heard on WSFM, GOLD104.3, Mix102.3, KIIS 97.3 and 96FM from 7pm this Sunday over the next ten weeks, with the podcast available free on the iHeart app.
