Global chairman of Havas PR Global Collective James Wright to keynote Mumbrella CommsCon

One of the most prominent industry leaders in PR and communications globally, James Wright, will present the keynote session at Mumbrella CommsCon on 11 May.

Wright, who has spent a significant time in the Australian industry and more recently has been US-based, is global chairman of Havas PR Global Collective and global CEO of Red Havas.

The session will focus on how the world has changed over the previous years that have been dominated by the three Ps – polarisation, politics and the pandemic and how brands and agency can respond to this in a positive means.

Wright asserts that businesses and brands are expected to have an opinion, but it is a tricky line to walk. Having an opinion is only part of the challenge, but businesses need to go beyond talk and take tangible action.

Despite the numerous examples of businesses getting caught in the cross-hairs, many are still on the back foot. A brand or agency stands to lose not just its customers and clients but its staff as well if it fails to take a stand and follow through for what it believes in.

Wright will share his knowledge, research and expertise on how brands and agencies can navigate these complexities and come out with a stronger reputation at the event.

He joins a significant lineup at Mumbrella CommsCon which already includes Foxtel Group’s executive director – group communications, Jacqui Abbott; Howatson+Company’s head of PR, Ben Handberg; Pure Public Relations founder and managing director, Phoebe Netto; The Savage Company’s founder, Chris Savage, and Edelman’s head of talent and engagement, Lynnette Edmonds.

More speakers will be announced shortly.

Mumbrella CommsCon takes place on 11 May in Sydney at the Sofitel Wentworth. Earlybird tickets are available now.
