GMG wins Drive.com.au’s SEM account

Digital agency GMG has won the SEM account for Fairfax’s Drive Network (Drive.com.au).

The announcement:

GMG TAKES THE SEM WHEEL FOR DRIVE

GMG Digital (GMG) has been awarded the search engine marketing (SEM) contract for Fairfax’s Drive Network (Drive.com.au) – Australia’s most comprehensive online automotive authority and sales community.

Following a two-way pitch, the Cremorne-based independent has signed on for a contract worth more than $1M p/a to optimise users experience of Drive and generate more sales.

GMG’s Head of Media & Search, John Vlasakakis, says GMG has extensive experience in auto having worked on Youi, Peugeot and Holden, and is looking forward to the task.

“We will look at an innovative way of targeting the right type of user for the right manufacturer to avoid low quality leads and, instead, attract leads who fit within the price point of each manufacturer. As a large independent we have the scale to service a client the size of Drive.com.au.”

Vlasakakis says GMG is also one of only four agencies in Google’s Growth Academy – which will continue to provide opportunities to offer new technologies in search for clients
including Drive.

Drive CEO, Chris Polites, says GMG was selected because of both its track record in delivering precision search solutions and it’s clear passion for digital craft.

“We have a significant volume of people coming to our site to find their next dream ride and we want to help them narrow their focus. We’re confident GMG can help us continue to change how Australia experiences cars and help our 1000+ accredited dealers find new homes for their vehicles.”

Drive Network’s SEM was previously managed by Reprise Media.
