Gogglebox and The Bachelor help Ten top key demos, but Seven wins Thursday night
Ten was untouchable in the key advertising demographics on Thursday night, holding the top two programs in all three – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – with Gogglebox and The Bachelor.
Overall, 804,000 metro viewers tuned in for Googlebox Australia, a 100,000 rise from its premiere of 704,000 two weeks ago, and 720,000 watched The Bachelor.
But in the end it was Seven’s night, with the most-watched program title going to Seven News on 968,000 and a 30.9% network share ahead of Ten’s 24.6% and Nine’s 22.3%. The Front Bar drew in 365,000 metro viewers for the network while Home and Away delivered 553,000.
Nine’s most-watched overall was Nine News with 871,000 metro viewers, followed by A Current Affair on 702,000. In Sydney and Brisbane, Nine aired the NRL game between the North Queensland Cowboys and the Canterbury Bulldogs to 294,000 at 7.30pm, while the other states got Nine’s My Room Telethon which drew a combined regional and metro figure of 118,000 viewers, making it the 110th most-watched program of the night.
ABC News brought in 659,000 metro viewers, followed by 7.30 with 554,000. ABC drew an overall network share of 15.2%.
In the channel shares, Seven held 18.6%, Ten 18.1%, Nine 16.3% and ABC 10.1%. The most-watched multi-channel was 7Two with 5.0%.
