Gogglebox brings the crowds for Ten as new season launches to 480k metro viewers

A new season of Gogglebox Australia brought in an entertainment win for Ten on Thursday night with 480,000 metro viewers.

The show launched on the free-to-air channel one day after it premiered on Foxtel. It was the top-rated show for all three key advertising demos last night. The show’s last season launched to 450,000 metro viewers in August 2022.

For season 17, all households have returned except for Emmie from the Silbery Family, who stepped away from the show at the age of 94 after joining in season 3 in 2016.

Following the Gogglebox in entertainment was RBT on Nine with 469,000 metro viewers, followed by Home and Away on Seven with 442,000.

Seven’s The Chase Australia aired to 434,000 metro viewers, while a late screening of Home and Away brought in 395,000.

The #1 program on Thursday was Seven News at 6:30 with 822,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News with 810,000, Nine News at 6:30 with 714,000 and Nine News with 709,000.

Nine Network won the overall share with a 28.3% share, followed by Seven with 25.7%, Ten with 19% and ABC with 18.2%.

The top-rated primary channel was Nine with a 20.4% share, but the top-rated multichannel was 7Two with 3.5%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 17 February, Seven News was the #1 program nationally with 1.31 million Total TV viewers, including 34,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%.

However, the program with the biggest uplift was a late screening of Home and Away with 28% uplift, with 832,000 Total TV viewers and 123,000 on national BVOD.
