Gogglebox returns in September without 2 locked-down Sydney families

Logie-winning entertainment program Gogglebox Australia will return to television screens in September, with the new season to air on 8 September at 7:30pm (Foxtel) and 9 September at 8:39pm (Network Ten) respectively.

Gogglebox returns without two families who reside in Sydney hotspots, the Delpechitra and the Elias families.

Returning to the program are Adam and Symon, who earlier this year participated in Ten’s top-rating show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Other families have had to make changes to how they’ll be recorded on their couches as a result of COVID restrictions as well during the upcoming 14th season.

For the Silbery family, Emmie and Kerry will sit on their own couch in their own home for the first time, with Isabelle zooming in from their usual couch. Emmie is 93-years-old.

Meanwhile Sarah Marie, Matty and their young child son Malik will zoom in with ‘uncle’ Jad, while frontline worker/nurse Kaday will settle on her couch with best friend Chantel zooming in.

Mick and Di, Lee and Keith, Anastacia and Faye, The Daltons, Tim and Leanne, and Milo and Nic will each return under normal circumstances.

Foxtel executive director of television, Brian Walsh, said: “I think, more than ever, Australia is ready for a new season of Gogglebox. It’s the one show on television which pulls no punches and tells it like it is.

“As we all navigate our way through these challenging times, our wonderful Gogglebox households are bound to give us some television moments to remember.

“We are especially delighted to welcome back to the couch, Adam and Symon, cameo guests for the upcoming season. They are a fan favourite and are always welcome back to the series.”

Gogglebox Australia is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Network Ten and Foxtel. The program will be available on-demand on Foxtel and 10 Play On Demand.
