Good Food publishes first cookbook

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age’s Good Food has released its first cookbook, collating recipes from some of Australia’s best chefs.

The announcement:

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age’s Good Food has published its first cookbook, just in time for Mother’s Day, with esteemed chefs offering up their favourite dishes.

Good Food Favourite Recipes, published by Simon & Schuster, taps an impressive library of recipes from chefs including Adam Liaw, Kylie Kwong, Jill Dupleix, Neil Perry and other stellar names who write regularly for Good Food, Good Weekend and Sunday Life magazines.

Good Food Favourite Recipes features meals from Adam Liaw, Kylie Kwong, Julie Dupleix and Neil Perry.

Curated by Good Food editor Arydn Bernoth, the recipes are designed to inspire home cooks, with the book divided into chapters from soups to pasta, eggs, grains and tarts, fish and seafood, desserts and treats.

The recipes are clearly labelled for those looking for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.

“Our Good Food readers are passionate about food. They use food to show how much they care for the people around them and that’s what Favourite Recipes is all about, with beautiful, delicious dishes for every occasion,” Bernoth said.

“The brief to our chefs was simple: give us the food you are passionate about which reflects the seasons, but make it approachable. We know the people who will cook these recipes are not professional chefs. We need recipes for week night meals that can be made after a tough day at work, in between ballet and footy pickups, as much as we need the show-stopping numbers like Danielle Alvarez’s chocolate, coconut butterscotch and raspberry trifle.”

Good Food is also the Home of the Hats through the annual Good Food Guide awards, with the third national Good Food Guide book to be published in late September, also by Simon & Schuster.

The Good Food Guide is the bible for Australian dining, awarding the best restaurants three, two or one hat, as well as reviewing more than 500 restaurants around the nation.

The highly respected and authoritative Good Food Guide, first book published by The Age in 1979, celebrates 40 years in 2019.

Good Food Favourite Recipes is available from April 15 through book stores, selected newsagents and online at thestore.com.au for $39.99.
