May 9, 2011 –

Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine is pleased to announce two key editorial appointments.

Frances Hibbard takes up the newly-created role of Managing Editor (Travel) and Pat Nourse has been promoted to Deputy Editor.

Hibbard joins Gourmet Traveller from sister ACP Magazines title, Harper’s BAZAAR, where she has spent six years, the last five as Chief Sub-editor and Travel Editor.

She also has strong newspaper experience gained in regional publications and, later, on Sydney’s Daily Telegraph where she worked on the launch of Sydney Live and was Chief Sub-editor of the paper’s features sections.

Hibbard will continue to edit Harper’s BAZAAR’s travel pages and joins Gourmet Traveller today (Monday, May 9).

Nourse joined Gourmet Traveller seven years ago as Features Editor.

In his new role, he will continue to work closely with Editor Anthea Loucas in directing the magazine’s food, features and restaurant coverage.

Announcing the appointments, Loucas said: “Frances has created an excellent travel section at Harper’s and will bring a news-driven approach to Gourmet Traveller’s travel coverage – not to mention a suitcase full of travel contacts.

“I welcome her to the team and look forward to working with her on producing the country’s best travel magazine content with compelling, informative writing and first-rate photography.

“Pat has worked alongside me at Gourmet Traveller for seven years and has been a first-rate collaborator. He is both an exceptional writer and excellent ideas man and brings energy, passion and enthusiasm to his new, more senior role, of Deputy Editor.”
