Government finally releases COVID-19 education campaign across print, radio and video

The government’s $30m campaign about steps people can take to minimise the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) has launched with executions including video, print and audio.

The campaign was due to launch on Friday, however the campaign assets became available online over the weekend.

The government is appealing to the public to do their part

Brisbane-agency Carbon Creative put the campaign together, with the finances coming out of both the 2020 and 2021 financial years.

“The campaign aims to reduce the risk to individuals and families by enabling them to make informed decisions and to take up health recommendations,” the Government said.

So far, there are four campaign videos available: Stay Informed, Help Stop The Spread, Recent Traveller and Good Hygiene Starts Here.

Over the past few days, the government has also been issuing further advice on how to slow down the spread of the disease, including cancelling non-essential gatherings of 500 or more people from Monday and stricter travel policies.

So far, this has had implications for events such as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Vivid Sydney, which will not run in 2020. In addition, many TV productions which traditionally rely on a live studio audience will proceed without audiences.
