GPY&R wins Australian Defence Force

The Australian Defence Force Recruiting has appointed George Patterson Y&R to handle its digital account.

The announcement:

Y&R Brands has won the hotly contested Australian Defence Force Recruiting digital account.

One of the largest digital pitches undertaken in this market, the ADF business was won by George Patterson Y&R in association with Y&R Brands Group company, Wunderman. The account was previously held by leading specialist digital house, Visual Jazz.

Y&R Brands CEO Russel Howcroft said the win was a significant milestone for lead agency GPY&R.

“For the past 10 years Patts has had a very proud and productive relationship with the ADF and their decision to award the agency with their entire digital and website portfolio, on the back of retaining the ADF’s creative services contract, is a great recognition of the work that GPY&R has put into building the agency’s digital capability. This pitch was a massive and complex undertaking. Wunderman also stepped up to the plate, providing valuable insights on lead generation, customer relationship management and data capabilities. The combined Y&R Brands offering delivers a powerful, totally integrated package. ” says Howcroft.

The new ADF digital contract covers support and maintenance of a suite of websites containing more than 2500 pages, the creation of flash gaming for applications incorporating multi-player and live chat functionality, as well as extensive web-based film content.

GPY&R national business director Steve Doherty said that the appointment of GPY&R and Wunderman would provide the ADF with greater communications synergies and operational efficiency and better media-neutral solutions. “We are pleased to be able to offer Defence Force Recruiting a total end-to-end solution. We have a powerful group proposition and we are delighted the ADF has determined to award us their highly prized digital contract,” says Doherty.
