Great ads; now to sort out the search engine
NineMSN’s search engine Bing (come on, you must have heard of it…) is to reposition itself as The Decision Engine.
While the report on B&T Today says nothing about advertising, any local executions are going to have to go some to beat the work that’s just rolled out in the UK from JWT London.

Pretty crook when Bing Lee comes up before a Microsoft product on Google.
Try it.
The suggesty thing places Bing.com third behind Mr Lee’s website and his fridge catalogue.

Tony: people using one search engine to find another search engine are damned lucky they’re not taken out and shot for stupidity. I have no problem with them not seeing the search engine they’re looking for at the very top of their search result.
Centuries ago when I worked at Yahoo! AUNZ and our search results were powered by Google, the keyword “Google” was consistently in our top 10 search keywords. So people were using a search engine powered by Google (adding one step to the process of going to Google) in order to get an identical search result with a different brand on it.
Clearly, the advertising was to blame 😉

admittedly, the ‘related searches’ sidebar on Bing makes it a bit simpler to narrow your search, but otherwise the results are much the same as Google.
the best features of Bing are the Image Search and the Birds-Eye-View Satellite Views—Google still has far better coverage and resolution, but Microsoft is playing catchup with their own satellites, so it’s only a matter of time.
