Grin Creative recruits Adventure Group’s Kirstie Bedford to edit Luxury Escapes magazine

Kirstie Bedford, former editor of Adventure Group’s The Wanderer and Caravan World has joined Grin Creative to edit the company’s Luxury Escapes venture.

The national glossy print title is an extension of the fortnightly direct mail mini-magazines launched for travel website Luxury Escapes late last year.

The revamped Luxury Escapes magazine will have an initial circulation of 20,000 copies for its November launch with distribution through newsstands, business class lounges and hotels along with direct mail to the website’s platinum members.

Grin Creative’s publisher and director, Justin Jamieson said Bedford’s appointment was due to her skills, experience and passion for the travel industry.

Bedford was previously editor of self-drive tourism titles Caravan World and The Wanderer magazine, and early this year launched a mini-mag for the regional tourism market. Previously, she has worked in communication management positions in the travel sector, a freelance travel writer and has worked as a broadcast travel editor.

Luxury Escapes Chief Revenue Officer Blake Hutchison said of the expanded venture: “We’re pleased to deliver our customers, and potential new customers, a print publication that will strengthen what we are doing online.”

Grin Creative Managing Director Justin Jamieson added: “We’re really excited to be launching this expanded publication with Luxury Escapes. To be able to tap into an extensive and engaged database with such a popular travel brand is a dream come true for a publisher.”

“Luxury Escapes Group has identified what travellers are seeking and wanting. Luxury travel has changed in the last decade as seen with the rise of trends including glamping, barefoot luxury and high-end immersive experiences. This publication will be reflectivemof these.

“It’ll have authentic, quality content supported with stunning imagery and a unique design, which champions the destination, property or experience. The magazine will be an independent all-encompassing luxury travel title, as well as featuring exclusive Luxury Escapes’ deals.”
