Group of flashers get their lungs out for awareness campaign

PR agency Burson-Marsteller has launched a campaign for The Lung Foundation aimed to raise awareness about lung health.

The “Show Us Your Lungs” campaign officially launched today with a community service announcement and a public presentation featuring medical experts and patient case studies in Sydney’s Wynyard Park this morning.

A “teaser” video was released on Friday ahead of the launch.

According to The Lung Foundation there are 2.6 million cases of lung disease in Australia each year including 350,000 hospitalisations and over 19,000 related deaths.

Professor Christine Jenkins, Lung Foundation National Council member said: “The survey results indicate that people aren’t recognising signs of poor lung health and probably not speaking to their doctors about their symptoms.”

The campaign video, a collaboration between the PR agency, Neon and Studio 33, features star of Australian horror film Wolf Creek, John Jarrat.

“The impact of lung disease in Australia is enormous. Having seen the statistics, I  decided to get involved and warn people not to ignore the signs.”
