GroupM Australia tops RECMA Qualitative Domestic Report

GroupM Australia secured the top spot in RECMA’s most recent Qualitative Domestic Report.

The announcement:

GroupM Australia has topped the latest RECMA Qualitative Domestic Report released last week.

RECMA is an independent research company who publishes media agency rankings on a global scale. The Qualitative Domestic Report ranks agencies based on vitality and structure, which is assessed across nineteen criteria including new business and client growth, capability and specialised resources, leadership stability and award wins.

The number one ranking reflects a strong period of resurgence from GroupM and its agencies – Mindshare, Wavemaker and EssenceMediacom. The combined momentum and trajectory across all agencies have resulted in GroupM steadily improving their position year on year. The Group has recorded the best progression of any agency group over the last three years, increasing its total score from 14 points in 2021 to 49 points today.

Key client partnerships have been extended across the Group, including Mitsubishi and the South Australian Government for Wavemaker, Uber and nib for EssenceMediacom, NAB and Foxtel for Mindshare.

The Group has also welcomed a number of new clients into the fold, including the Allianz Group for Wavemaker, the offline consolidation of Google for EssenceMediacom and Unilever for Mindshare.

Aimee Buchanan, GroupM Australia and New Zealand CEO says: “We have been passionate about driving a new agenda for GroupM Australia over the last few years, built around sustainable growth that ladders up to our vision of shaping the next era of media. We are fortunate to work across some of the best brands and businesses in Australia and we are grateful for their partnership. I am very proud of our agencies Mindshare, Wavemaker and EssenceMediacom and this achievement is testament to the passion and commitment they continue to deliver day in, day out. There is a real sense of momentum across GroupM, which is exciting.”

GroupM has continued to expand its capabilities in line with client needs, including the formation of Nexus, the Group’s performance and advanced digital specialist arm, and the launch of Acceleration, the Group’s data and technology consulting business, helping clients connect data and technology with media performance.
