GroupM selects MediaMonks talent to head up Acceleration ANZ

WPP investment arm GroupM has welcomed Tom Braybrook to lead the local launch of data and technology consulting business, Acceleration, as managing director.

Joining the agency from his role as VP of Growth in Australia and New Zealand at S4 Capital’s MediaMonks, Braybrook brings 15 years of experience across media, marketing technology and digital consulting.

He was previously head of agencies and partners at Google New Zealand, and has also spent time in senior roles leading product, strategy and solutions at Adobe, as well as tech and analysis roles within Omnicom.

Positioned as WPP’s “centre of excellence for global data and technology consulting”, Acceleration is globally operated by GroupM, with the launch set to help deliver sustainable growth for local clients across Mindshare, Wavemaker and EssenceMediacom.

Of his appointment, Braybrook said: “The adoption of data, analytics and cloud technologies continues to be a top priority for ANZ marketing teams. The latest appointment at GroupM comes a week after IPG’s Matt Scotton departed Initiative to take on a new remit as chief product marketing officer at GroupM’s soon-to-be-launched merged agency EssenceMediaCom.
