Gruen final episode for 2021 draws in 526K metro viewers

ABC’s final episode of Gruen for 2022 pulled in an average of 526,000 viewers on Wednesday night, however it was an episode of Hard Quiz on the network which topped entertainment.

Hard Quiz brought in a metro audience of 537,000, while an episode of Seven’s The Chase Australia saw 434,000 metro viewers tune in.

Seven’s Border Security: Australia’s Front Line was next in entertainment with 356,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine’s Mega Zoo which pulled in 354,000 metro viewers.

The #1 program on Wednesday was Seven News, which had an average of 815,000 metro viewers, ahead of Seven News at 6:30 with 778,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 pulled in 774,000. Nine News at 6:30 also won all three key advertising demos.

In overall daily network share, Nine won the night, taking a share of 30.6% over Seven’s 26.6% share, while ABC took a 19.6% share, and Ten had 15.2%.

Nine also won primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channels for Wednesday was 9Gem and 7TWO with a share of 4.3%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 8 December, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear with 1.385 million viewers including 22,000 on national BVOD and an uplift of 2%.

The program with the biggest uplift however was Wednesday’s episode of Gruen on ABC which had a 22% uplift on overnight figures and had a total of 836,000 viewers overall and a national BVOD audience of 26,000.
